Consultancy

Response capability review: An audit to assess aspects of critical emergency response, including organisation, communications, roles and responsibilities, procedures, competence and facilities.

Training

Responder training: To train response team personnel in all roles and aspects of operational, tactical and strategic emergency response and crisis management. Tailored to meet company-specific processes and industry best practice.

Human resources response training: Covering all aspects of HR response, including management of next of kin enquiries, contractor liaison, company responder visits to hospitals, heliports and reception centres, and family liaison.

Media training (Foundation, Intermediate and Masterclass): Theoretical and practical sessions designed to provide delegates with the knowledge and confidence required to effectively handle media enquiries.

Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) Level 2 Corporate Manager (UK) Oil Spill Response Training: An accredited course that aligns with DECC Corporate Manager training requirements. Ensures that delegates understand oil spill response in relation to their own operating level.

Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) Level 3 Onshore Emergency Responder Oil Spill Response Training: A DECC aligned course that trains the operator’s environmental response personnel to understand, manage and implement the Oil Pollution Emergency Plan (OPEP).

Exercises

Tabletop exercise: To enable response team members to walk and talk through emergency response arrangements within a controlled environment.

Simulated exercise: Real-time exercises, based on realistic scenarios, to test emergency response arrangements and allow response personnel to practice roles and responsibilities.

Major exercise: To test a company’s emergency response plans and procedures in conjunction with external responders. Can include personnel at various levels, e.g., the affected site, the onshore emergency response team, relative team, media team, external support teams.

SOSREP (Secretary of State Representative) exercise: To prepare companies for the five-yearly validation of SOSREP arrangements. Includes training of response personnel in various interface roles, and preparation, delivery and facilitation of the exercise itself.

Other

Oil pollution emergency plans (OPEPs): The development of an operationally oriented OPEP that aligns with DECC regulatory requirements. Our service includes the compilation and external agency management of production and drilling OPEPs.

Business continuity: Solutions for companies wishing to develop and implement plans in-house. We can deliver services at all stages of the planning cycle. A client can begin with a business continuity ‘health check’ to determine its current position. All of our services comply with Business Continuity Institute best practice and align with BS25999.
