UK Energy Minister praises training

15 August 2013

UK Energy Minister Michael Fallon has praised staff at Petrofac Training Services following a visit to the Altens Survival Training Centre in Aberdeen.

The minister was undergoing essential survival training ahead of a visit offshore to Total’s Elgin platform – he received classroom-based instruction in the use of the Emergency Breathing System before practising Helicopter Underwater Escape Training in the pool.

Mr Fallon said: “The experience and level of training was very impressive and it emphasised the importance of high-quality training in offshore safety, which is an essential part of the North Sea safety agenda.”
