Baku training centre accredited as an EAL-approved assessment centre

1 April 2010

EAL (EMTA Awards Limited) is the leading awarding body for engineering National Vocational Qualifications, responsible for the award of more than 70% of engineering vocational qualifications in the UK.

The approval is the final step in the development of a Rigger Competence Programme, specifically designed for the offshore sector.

The programme has three stages, comprising both mandatory and optional modules. Each module requires candidates to collate evidence of competence at their workplace in a portfolio and to present this to Training Services for verification. On successful completion of each module a certificate of competence is issued by the EAL, which can be used as supporting evidence toward a formal vocational qualification.

Master copies of the portfolios have been produced in Russian and Azerbaijani to assist understanding, and other languages can be added to this.

Training Services is the only training provider in the Caspian region to offer this type of programme and although the programme was specifically developed for the Caspian region, it can be applied anywhere that competence is required in lifting operations.
